I'm starting with the ivf pio shots but i have had needle phobia pretty much my whole life. I've been trying to manage it recently but now this ivf journey is totally new to me and it gives me such an anxiety. Has anyone been through the same? I really need some encouragement

You're not alone, lots of people feel anxious about needles, especially with PIO shots during IVF. Here are a few tips that might help, try warming the oil by holding the syringe for a minute before the shot, icing the spot where you'll inject for a few minutes, and keeping your muscle relaxed can really help with the pain. Listening to music or watching a show can be a good distraction too.

Do you have any tricks that help you calm down?

Also, it's a good idea to chat with your clinic about your fear of needles, they might have ways to support you. Connecting with others who are also doing IVF can really make a difference. How are you feeling about starting the shots?

You can do it. I think you just gotta think about what this needle means for you. The needles for vaccines? Those are different... it's for your life. But these new needles you're facing? They're for birthing a new life. I guess that makes you think, no?
