BP spike after retrieval

We have been on this TTC ride for almost a decade. Safe to say that we tried just about everything from positioning tricks to wild tips. But here we are, we finally gave IVF a shot. Unfortunately we only got one egg and sadly it didn't make it past day one. It was heartbreaking, but I'm hopeful.

What's weird is that I was told my blood pressure shot up after retrieval. Never had blood pressure issues before. But I did feel off when I started the meds. Has anyone here experience BP spikes during IVF?

First off, sending you a big hug, after nearly a decade of trying, I feel you and the blood pressure spike can absolutely happen, the hormone meds would have messed with more than just ovaries and some people's systems react strongly, especially to things like Lupron or the trigger shots, its not rare if youre sensitive to hormonal swings
Please do bring it up again at your next visit

Thanks for sharing. Your strength is inspiring. I'm so sorry about the outcome, but it's great that you're staying hopeful. As for the blood pressure, I've heard some meds used in IVF can cause temporary spikes, especially with hormones like Lupron or progesterone. Did your doctor suggest monitoring it or adjusting your meds?

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's so heartbreaking after such a long journey. I haven't personally, but some IVF medications can temporarily affect blood pressure
